Frequently Asked Questions

How often should my windows be replaced?

Existing windows that are over 10 years old are prime candidates for replacement. That’s because they’re probably not up to the latest energy efficiency ratings and often contribute to leaks that compromise the integrity of your home.

How much do replacement windows cost?

This depends on multiple factors including the company you hire, the quality of window and the grid/hardware options you chose. Vinyl Windows range between $400-$1,000 installed. Fiberglass $900-$1300 installed and Wood or Wood Composite - $1,400-$2,000.

Is there a standard size for windows and doors?

Not when you are replacing existing windows in your home. All of our windows are customer made to order so they fit perfectly every time. Patio doors have standard sizes but can also be made in custom sizes.

How long does it take to install new windows?

You should allow 6-8 weeks from the time you place your window order before installation can be ready to begin. From there most projects will take anywhere from 1 day (5 windows) up to 5 days (40 windows).

What is the difference between New Construction and Replacement?

All of our Infinity Windows from Marvin can be installed using both New Construction or Replacement style or Insert Window installation methods. New construction or Full Frame windows come with an exterior nailing flange that attaches to the outside wall of your home. As such this can only be done by removing old exterior trim and sometimes old siding. It is a more costly and timely process but in some cases, it is the best way to ensure proper installation. Replacement installs fit into the existing wood framing and are doing using a thru jamb install method with little to no disturbance to the exterior and interior trim. In most cases, this is the most efficient install method for existing homes.
